UK Women Scientists DO Get Top Jobs - But They Don't Always Keep Them

Professor Julia Goodfellow CBE is the former head (2002-2007) of one of the UK's major research funding organisations, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council .  She had this to say about scientific careers.

Baroness Susan Greenfield was the director of the Royal Institution until she was made redundant in January 2010.  She sued the Royal Institution for sex discrimination but dropped the suit in favour of an out of court settlement.  What do you think about this?

This article in The Independent announces that the Royal Society had announced a list of 10 women pioneers in science and offers its own list of 'Today's Trail Blazers'.  What do you think about the story?  What do you think about the paper's choice of illustration?
